Overview:
Ollio Patisserie is seeking a friendly and energetic Barista Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality hot and cold beverages, assisting customers with their orders, and maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere in the bakery/cafe. You must be willing to work at both Ollio-Frisco location primarily and Ollio-The Colony location on an as-needed basis.

A passion for pastries and a love for the bakery environment are essential.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Food Safety: Practice food safety, clean/sanitize surfaces and follow company operating guidelines regarding food safety.
  • Mis En Place: Perform mis en place of ingredients according to weekly/daily production schedules.
  • Production: Prepare menu items according to recipes in a timely manner.
  • Baking: Perform baking activities according to production plan.
  • General Kitchen Cleanup: Perform duties such as sweeping, mopping cleaning/sanitizing food contact areas on an ongoing basis.
  • I Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea drinks, following recipes and techniques to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Bakery Assistance: Assist with serving and setting up bakery items, including pastries, bread, and other baked goods. Provide product recommendations to customers.
  • Cash Handling and Accountability: Operate the cash register, process payments, and handle cash accurately.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including coffee machines, equipment, and customer areas. Follow all health and safety guidelines.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, and other supplies. Notify the manager when supplies are low.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive team environment.



Skills

  • Experience: Previous bakery industry experience is preferred. Aptitude and passion for pastry arts and culinary arts is essential.

  • Attendance: Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. Timeliness and punctuality is essential.

  • Availability: Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays.

  • Standards Compliance: Meet store operating policies and standards, including working towards producing high quality menu items while maintaining food safety is essential.

  • Learning Ability: Ability to learn quickly.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Physical: Be able to lift items weighing up to 50lb, function in a commercial kitchen and perform duties by standing for extended duration.

  • Relationship Building: Ability to build relationships.

  • Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to commute to work and also between Ollio-Frisco and Ollio-The Colony if needed.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive team environment.


Requirements:

  • Possess valid work authorization
  • Possess valid Driver's License
  • Possess Texas Food Handlers License (or willing to obtain one upon hiring)
  • 1+ year of professional barista experience (preferred)
  • 1+ year of kitchen experience (optional)
